Default 4:10"s or 3:73 /4000 stall

Are 3:73 rear gear enough for a 4000 stall, i need at least that size stall cause i plan on putting in MS4 cam. stock 10 bolt stock A4.

good luck with the 10 bolt lasting through the ms4. the gearing really matters with your tire height. typically for a drag setup with 26" (stock height) tire, a 3.73 will trap around 5700-5900 rpm i believe. a 4.10 would roughly trap 6200-6400 rpm. with a bigger tire, you need a bigger gear to trap where you want.

4.10s will tighten the car up on the street with a 4000 stall. However, I'd save the coin from the gear purchase/install and by a 12 bolt. With a 4000 stall, sticky tires and 4.10s you will break it within a couple months tops.

I also would've gone with a bigger stall....but I'm a DD, stock internal, 4400 kind of guy.

I had the MS3 cam, 4600 stall, and 4.10s in the 10 bolt and went 10.85 @ 126, launching off a 4000 foot brake on a 26" drag radial, dead hooking. If you have the gear, girdle, and a stud kit, you will be fine launching on slicks or drag radials.
