Default 4l60e buy a new one or try to fix?

my trans has 30k on it.It will not shift 1-2 or 2-3 while spraying.Even with the window switch off at 6200 and the shift at 6500.I have tried everything.lower shift points and still the same. Will a transgo or new servo's help this or should i just buy a performabuilt for 1400. once it bangs the limiter at 7k it shifts and won't slip it is just getting it to shift.I have no clue. And also if i buy a new trans can i use my old converter? It is less than a year old and i paid 6 something for it i hate to just throw it away.

I am going to norwalk in april for a private event (10 hr drive for me) and i have to get this resolved by then.

sorry for all the ?'s on my first post but i don't know where else to turn .

thanks,
mike

well the servo may help but from my experince and most of our customers on here the best solution was to just get a new built trans, As for converter as long and the fluild in it is clean and the lockup works well i se no reason you cant reuse it , As fo time we can shipp within about 1-2 days of your order ,
thanks let us know is we can help you out

It's a no-brainer. Get a rebuilt - PerformaBuilt, RPM, FLP, Yank.

Have the TQ professionally flushed to remove any contamination and/or send it back to the builder and have them do it. But as PerformaBuilt states, if the fluid is clean, has good color, and the pan is squeaky clean with no residue then it's probably not necessary to flush the TQ.

My PerformaBuilt level 3 is on the way. Will be installing a Yank PY3400 too. Ought to a great combination behind the ATI D1SC.

i build 4l60es and they can handle 700hp no problem For the last few years, I have been concentrating on the problems of 700R4's & 4L60E's, and have come up with some "solid" solutions. With the help of Trans-Go (Reprogramming kits, No Yo-Yo steel front pump rings, accumulation products, and technical knowledge), Borg Warner (Hi-Energy 3-4 clutches, & Hi-Energy 2-4 band), and General Motors (Viton seal for the input to output shaft, eliminating rear planet failure due to lack of lubrication, and their Turbulator low-drag steel & quick clutch release technology). I thank you.

If you are "tired" of the 1-2 part throttle (slam, bang, harsh, or violent) shifts of your present 700R4 & 4L60E transmission, then you will like my Performance oriented 700R4/4L60E's. They offer nice part throttle 1-2 & 2-3 accumulated shifts with the shifts getting firmer with more throttle.

All of these factors have contributed to these units holding up to 550-575 HP for the Street/Strip 700R4 & 4L60E and 625-650 HP for the "Limited" Street 700R4 & 4L60E, (that is with using a 10" or smaller diameter torque converter of high quality). These transmissions come with a one year warranty.

If you are looking at building this transmission 700R4/4L60E yourself or having a competent builder do it for you, then I offer a very complete rebuild kits. These kits use the same parts that I use in all of my Performance 700R4 & 4L60E buildups, including the Trans-Go Performance Shift kit with the "proven" accumulation setup.

And paying close attention to clearances & details, has given us have many vehicles in the 11's, a few in the 10's, a couple of high 9's, and the quickest/fastest is a 3,630 lbs w/driver street driven 2000 Firebird. He built the transmission himself using the Pro Street Performance Upgrade, and has run a best of a 5.78ET @121mph in the 1/8 mile, & a 9.36ET @144.6mph in the 1/4 mile. By the way his wife does the driving. Had over 300 passes when he had to replace the 3-4 clutch pack. This shows you what the transmission is capable of, so it can be done, and you can do it with the right parts & direction.

anyone in the low 10s or high nines is not going to get long life out of a 4l60e with a lot of track passes.there just isnt enough capacity in the 3rd clutch and if you jack up the pressure there goes the snap ring.there Are alot of untrue claims about the power level by people who dont have facts to back it up.id like to see some proof come on and shut me up.im the master of day and night r and d on gm units look at my website.whos got 100 10 0 or mid 9 runs on a 4l60e?the front planet is on in 1st only, and is overdriven in 2 nd and 4th.the trans has too much ratio and speed and wont live unless the 3rd clutch capacity is increased by at least 40 percent imo,and i dont mean by raising the pressure.and still when youve got enough ***** the reaction tube will twist like a curly fry.i am currently writing a book on the trans to be released soon like the 200 page 2004r book ive already written.
