Is the TPS used in shifting the transmission.....When I unhhok the TPS the transmission still shifts.....on a C5 drive by wire setup...

Anyone know this....oh please dont quote GMs manual...I have it.....

Yes the tps is used in shifting it tells the PCM throttle position which helps the PCM determine shift points and lin presure , but if the signal is not available the PCM will use the other information it has RPM MAFF VSS to control these things though they will not be as acurate and shift charateristics will be some what different
