Studs & Lugs for Bogart and Stock
I run both the stock WS6 rim and Bogart Welded RT's. I plan on doing ARP wheel studs in the rear. I assume if they are longer than stock I'll need new lugnuts for the rears.
1. Will the stockers work with the extended studs
2. I have heard that Bogarts need the open lugs machined. Anyone?
3. Would/Could I just cut them down and use the same McGaurd lugs I have now? (they are closed and my track isn't that picky)
4. Is it that big of a deal to stick with the stock size?
Here's the info on the studs.

You don't need 3.25" studs with our wheels. In fact, depending on how we build the wheels, the stock studs are plenty long enough. The centers are not stamped material where structurally you need additional relief in material to keep it strong (like you see in a weld prostar which you NEED a 3.25" long stud. Those centers are SUPER thick hence why you need very long studs.
Put those long studs on your car, and you'll soon see how bad a stock styled wheel will look! Depending on how we built your wheel, you do not need much longer then stock. NHRA rules needs 1/2 the diameter of the stud protruding into the hex portion of the lug.
I don't konw if I built your wheels or they were used etc...(can't look up your name form your user name on here)...if they were correctly built for an LS1 you'd just barely fail with the stock studs, you need just a slight bit more length. This eliminates problems you'd see with trying to re-use the stock closed studs for your stock wheels.
Open lugs are milled down due to the fact that a typical LS1 designed wheel is not standard...I can explain more or help you more, give me a call tomorrow when i'm in my office.

Steve, thanks! Yes, I did get my wheels from you.
If I don't have to go bigger and still get a strong stud at the stock size I'd rather do that and not get new lugs. I like the closed ones I have now but worry about breaking them off.
