A friend is planning on running that cam with stock stall in a 4l80e(the stall is 1300). He has 3.73 gears. Would that cam require a higher stall speed?

no it wont require it to run. It will run just fine, but the point of getting a cam is for increased performance, with a stock stall that cam will have poor performance and will not be able to utilize its power band. A bolt on car with a stock cam will kill that setup that your friend has. get the verter.

that's what I tried to tell him but he doesn't listen to me. he's getting AFR 205 heads and all the bolt-ons.

I'm sure he'll change his mind once the car is all done.

it will be a dog off the line and tricky to idle right right without it fighting the brakes at a stop.

yeah, I was wondering if he would problems with it stalling out at red lights or surging.
