Default your opinion please...

OK, I thought I would ask you guys these questions, since the s10 forum I browse never answers my questions .

The question is since I am about to drop in a built LSx motor into my 91 s10, traction is the key. With the ford 8.8 and slide-a-links, tires are my only concern. I was planing on running, 285/40/17 BFGoodrich g-force T/A KDW's. Then I decided I wanted to run a drag radial. After searching, nobody makes a 285/40/17 drag radial, only 275/40/17. So would there be a huge difference in appearance/traction/size/ between the 285/40/17 KDW and the 275/40/17 BFG drag radial?

I was going to order my rims from Discounttiredirect but they don't make the size I need. Where would you guys recomend me ordering rims from. I going to run 17x7's in the front and 17x10's in the back. Can't go wider than 7" in the front because the rim will hit the tie rod end. Also according to my math, with the addition of the Ford 8.8, the backspacing is exactly the same as a 93+F-body. So my rear rims I will order for a 2000 Camaro, but throw them on my 91 S10.

There were some other questions but they are s10 specific.

So what tires would you recomend and what size for best amount of traction?

I thought the Nitto 555r's come in a 295. I could be wrong, but I thought I remembered someone saying that.

A 295 is quite possible the widest I can fit on a first gen s10. I want to try and stay with BFG because I have had nothing but awsome luck with their tires (not just car tires). I will look into the Nitto's though, thanks.

After searching for a some time, I found the 295/40/17 drag radial you were refering to. I was in a thread about the new Mickey Thompson ET Street radial tires. Looks like that is what I am going with. Thank's
