Default Wow, F-bodies handle pretty well at 150

Saterday night I was driving home from a party at my bosses house. Well I had just lost the race to my friends Evo, so I figured I needed a thrill. It was 3 am, and there wasn't a car in sight. So I slammed the gas to the floor and held on. As I hit 150, there was a car going south on the freeway (I was on 405). I wonder what was going through his head as I flew past at a buck 50 with the engine singing at 6k. Probebly, "WTF!". Once I got her to 150, I hit a slight dip in the raod, and desided enough was enough. But it sure as hell was fun.

Oh, well I was sober at the time, hadn't had a drink for about 5 hours then. But yea, I made sure there were no hits on the radar, then no cars, then punched it. Radar dectectors are the shiz, lol. This is deffinetly not something I would do at any other time the the middle of the night. Also, I figured that if I got up to about 120, and a op did hit me with radar, he really would have no chance of catching up. Plus it was a straigh section, no turns. I know its not safe, but I tried keeping it as safe as possible...

They handle well at 170 too, except the side windows flutter.

I keep in under control around here, but I have passed the 150 mark out in the middle of BFE(southern Idaho) where the road is straight and you can see for miles.

I'm not going to pretend I haven't driven that fast or faster on I-5 in the wee hours of the morning, but I definitely wouldn't do it or even drive if I had been drinking earlier in the night. Stay safe, man.

Words to live by....literally. Having totaled a car at 120+ (I took out 3 actually), I can speak to how fast things happen at speed. You really have very little time to react, and it's usually over by the time you do.

These cars we own are fast enough to be dangerous. And they handle so well it's deceptive. That is why I don't exceed 120 unless I am out in the middle of nowhere. Cars come from the weirdest places & they have no idea how fast you are going.....

Yeah, this is the last and only time I'll be doing something like this. Once is enough, but, it sure as hell was fun.

When the wife and I were still dating, there were sections of roads you could see to the end of and were 5+ miles long. I would make it a point to hit 100+mph on those roads, this all being when I was 17 - 19 age. This was at least every other week, at about 9PM or later on a road that you would rarely see another car on. After a while I stopped and I started to notice the deer that hang out in that area, now everytime I drive through at night I go speed the speed limit and watch for them, they aren't the smartest, at a speed of 100+ you would not only cream them, but your car and in something like a F-body it could come right through your windshield.

Probably dont have that problem over there much, but everytime I go fast anymore I prefer it in daylight so I can see anything that could be sneaking around on the side of the road.

We are all guilty of going way too fast on public roads. Just pick the time and place carefully because at that speed you probably won't get a " do over " if you mess up. Stay safe !

I wouldn't rely on your radar detector for that, either. When there are no other cars on the road, 'instant-on' is a killer!

Dude, you did see me while driving, I just don't think you realized it... You blasted past me on I-90 at about 90+ one day. I know it was you because I saw the "YEKTA" license plate.

I was driving in my Colorado, so I doubt you woulda recognized it..
