F/I Cam experts, for 317 heads 225 runners on stock LS6 224/228 vs. 232/238 cam
Looking at picking up some LQ9 317 heads that have the larger 225 intake runners to be used on stock LS6 motor blown by D1SC making 10 to 12 lbs of boost on stock cubed motor.
What cam would work best with these heads on my blown D1SC stock LS6 motor on and off the boost and would still feel strong stop light to stop light for normal driving and of course make crazy power when hot rodding.
ALso, if you can explain your choice in simple layman terms that would be much appreciated!
220/228, 114 lsa, .588 lift
224/228, 114 lsa, .588 lift
224/230, 114 lsa .590 lift
232/238, 114 lsa, .600 lift

AL,
IF i knock the compression down to around 9:6 I will feel even more confident pounding on my set-up b/c I'm running 100% alky after 4 lbs+ of boost kicks in, and that is why I would like to throw on some 317 LQ9 72cc Truck heads, which will help me lower the compression especially with a little thicker cometic head gasket.
Most of my research has shown that the first two smaller cams would most likely be the best choice on a my Z06 that will see most of its action on the street and some road racing, b/c low to midrange power will be more responsive on and off the boost and all the cams are going to make huge power in the upper rpms when the motor is rockin and rollin on boost. There is a 232/238 blower cam for sale on the f/s section that caught my eye, and it never hurts to get few more knowleable opinions from a few informative folks!
