I just got a new bumper because I cracked the hell out of my last one. Also, I don't think I made too much of a professional grade cutting job when it came to my bumper the last time. What are you all doing w/ your bumper/grille area? Are you cutting the whole thing out? Let me see some pics of your grilles please.

ABeasst, do you have any more pics from the backside of those IC's? Im trying to get an idea of how you have the outlet pipe from the IC's routed.

ABeast thats a heck of an interesting idea! Would be interesting to see before and after IAT readings from the traditional mounting and then yours.

That's a pretty cool setup, beasst.
However, I think I like Westside's setup the best so far. It's in your face, but subtle all around.
I would think running those 2 intercoolers in series like that (vs. parallel like ATI intended) would create a big pressure drop.

Here's mine. I choose to not hack up my front bumper and just to run some custom ducting from underneath the car instead. I did cut the area behind my fog lights but that is barely noticable. I'm sure if you decide to hack up your front bumper and have a gaping hole you will probably get the max cooling available to your FMIC. But mine works just fine at keeping my IAT's nice and cold

I wasn't as creative as Country Boy's grill (which looks really nice BTW.:) ) I went with the "less is more" philosophy

BTW, I cut the grill opening by hand with a Dremel and a standard cut-off wheel :)

I really like the entire thing cut out, but I think it actually looks a little too flashy sometimes unless the intercooler fills the ENTIRE space. I might just stick w/ cutting out the middle again like garrid and the others. This time I'm going to take good care and not injure my intercooler. I haven't seen anything extremely unique. However, with the camaro there is less that one can do; whereas, w/ the trans am there's so much that can be done. I really like the first poster w/ the smaller mesh in the grille.

Dude your car looks WICKED!!!!!
Where did you get the grill insert?
Can you give me anymore info on the HOWTO?
Any pics of the job as it went on?
Thanks... Again it's WICKED EVIL
Its an SLP SS grill that he cut out. I did mine very similar, all I did was mark out the areas to be cut on the back and go to town with the dremel.

okay the shop i brought my front clip too,for sanding and cleaning up the area i cut out of the bumper for my FMIC told me that since i don't have any type of lip left that the area has no support and the plastic is going to want to sag in the area where the black use to be? so they said to put some kind of brace/support inside the bumper to keep that from happening. this is on a LT1.
any thoughts on this guys?

does anyone have specific data on IAT's with a standard with openings only on the sides versus no grill. Its obvious the no grill version will have lower temps due to a direct shot of cool air...
however, i just wanted to see how low the IAT's would average with the grill in place.
Acutally, this is my grill.. what do ya'll think? With some creative ducting, could i keep and still have relatively decent IAT's?
