oil changes and short trips in coll weather
friend of mine says short trips in the car are better for the motor,
i say i dont think thats the way it is , short trip bad, lots of condonsation
from motor not getting hot enough, my way was long trips shorter oil
life but it burns off all water or condonsation in motor.. thanks

I'm from the school of thought that short trips in cold weather are bad for the oil (and thus your engine)...every winter, there are tons of threads to pop up with something to the effect that they have some sludge **** on the bottom of their oil fill caps. They usually all take short trips where the oil doesn't fully warm up...

Short trips bad....Also for cars that don't let their cats get all nice and hot to burn out the carbon.
Long trips are better for it in cold weather, the oil usually breaks down more on a long trip when it's 100 degrees outside.
