typical pricing for hone/assembly? (shortblock)
Its about that time to get my **** together and finally get it done! Just adding up the costs so i know how much extra to save during the build, ha. Lets say i bring the bare block with crank/mains, new pistons/rings, and rods. How much do shops typically charge for a hone and assembly? (348 build) I already have crower rods, JE pistons/rings/pins, stock crank/mains, and all new bearings. i just need to find a spare block and ship her out.
thanks.
thanks.

being that you have new rods and pistons you might want to have the rotating assembly balanced.. cost average (without have to add weight to the crank) is about $175
hone should be under $120
if you have file fit rings thats gonna run about $70 to file those
assembly is about $400 depending on the shop
so total will be some where in the range of $750 - $850 (those where the prices quoted to me, me being the cheap *** that i am, i filed my own rings and assembled my motor)
