which tr224 cam???
I called tr to check on my points and get a cam recommendation. And he recommended 224/224 .563/.563 114 LSA because its less stressful on the valvetrain, so I asked him if it will make the same horsepower as the 112 LSA and he said yes, so I'm wondering why does everybody get the 112 LSA instead of the 114 LSA and also is there a cam that yall might recommend, I'm getting ls6 intake, pacesetter headers, maybe install roller rockers, stall, and if budget allows port the heads.

the lower the lsa, the sooner your going to be in the powerband. and like mentioned above, a 114 will idle better then a 112. And with either one of those cams theres no point in installing rockers. your stockers will be fine. just make sure you do springs, and its a good idea to get some hardened pushrods. You might also want to think about getting a new oil pump and ls2 timing chain as well while you have the car apart.

Does anybody dd a 112 LSA with an automatic? Also I kind of want the choppy idle, but if the 114 LSA is really any better than the 114 LSA then i might go with that one.

I've tuned both of my friends' cars that are definitely daily-driver capable. Both stalled A4's with a Torquer v.2 cam, one with P&P'd LS6 heads. There's a little surging around 1600rpms I'm working on clearing up for them. But all in all, most driveability issues are in the tune.
The only thing I recommend is if you are going to drive it daily, allow yourself some extra time for warm-up. Cold valve springs and extra rpms don't go well together. I DD my 232/238 car (M6) in the summer and won't go anywhere until the coolant temp hits the 170's.

My experience with 112's doesn't show any issue with tuning A4's. I tuned a Torquer v.2 on a stock stalled 3.42 car at one point. Aside from the drivetrain kick going from park to drive, there wasn't too much trouble tuning for that cam.

going with a 112lsa with that small of a cam is fine, even for an A4. you will not experience any issues daily driving. just let the car sit and warm up a minute or two before taking off in cold weather. it's a great cam that you are getting. very solid performer. you will be pleased.
also, as stated above, when i did my cam swap (to my Comp224), i installed the Ls2 timing chain, Ls6 Oil Pump (ported and shimmed), springs, retainers, bases, and pushrods. at a minimum these are the upgrades that you would want to do with any cam swap period. hope this helps...
