Default pattriot gold spring question

do these springs fit stock ls heads or do the heads need machined? patriot's site isn't the greatest and i couldn't get a hold of them on the phone. these springs are almost a 1/2 inch taller than my current springs but are the same width. any help would be great

I'm 99.9% certain they're supposed to be a straight swap. Now, lining up valvetrain geometry is a different question to be answered by the use of shims and sometimes longer/shorter pushrods. If the geometry is off and needs to be shifted down, then yes the heads need machining. But, I haven't heard too many cases of that happening.
