Default Can you add DRL's to '96 Z28???

I kinda like how the DRL's look on the Camaro's with the ambers lit up comin' down the road. is there a way to hook them up up buy a '97 DRL module and hook it up or what? just curious if it's possible.~Cole~
p.s. i tried to search but everybody wants to disable them

i thought 95+ had DRL's? check under your hood for your DRL fuse, it may be blown.

learn somthign new every day. if i were you i would just turn your parking lamps on. it seems like way too much work to add DRL's, look up the sticky about disabling DRL's/AHL's there is a wiring schematic in there on it,.

Thanks guys. bww3588: there is something in my owners manual about DRL's(Canadian models only) and i figured it was just a module you plug into between your headlight switch and harness. Thanks again though~Cole~

To the OP, personally I hate DRLs. Not sure why you'd want them, but to each his own.

The parking lights will be dimmer than the DRLs. DRL uses the brighter filiment of the blinkers rather than the dimmer filiment of the parking lamps.

Yes, '97 was the first year for DRLs on F-bodies. Many other GM cars received them in '96 though, but not the F-body.

P.S. if you pull up you ebrake 1 click before you start it the AHL stay off at night. Of coarse your DRL's won't work either.

yeah, ive arleady disabled them by way of the ambient light sensor. besides the e-brake thing, i dont want that brake light starring me in the face. i want my lights on when I want my lights on, not when GM tells me to turn them on. besides, on a overcast day, going in and out of dark/light areas they tend to turn on and off and i look like an idiot.

I HATE automatic (IE moron proof) headlights. I haven't owned a car with them yet, but when I do that **** is getting disabled. Was it as simple as replacing the sensor with the right ohm resistor? That's what I would try. I assume it's in the dashboard at the base of the window or thereabouts, right?

yes, right under the defroster grille on the dash, right below the red blinking light for the security system. most write ups will tell you just to stick a peice of wire in there, but i used a 680 ohm 1/2 watt resistor. this is what the write up told me to use when i disabled them on my 98 s10. so i assume its the same. it works, been in there for 8 months with no problems. the easiest way to get to it is to take the radio out and reach up in there. otherwise you have to pull the dash pad up.

Well i got my kit today i'm in Atlanta on business and when i ordered i realised he was in Kennesaw, about 25 minutes from me. I met the guy and saved me shipping. Seems like a real good guy so i'd recommend him to anybody. Product Looks to have Exceptional High Quality and can't wait to install it. I mentioned to come here to LS1tech and talk about sponsoring and getting his name out.
