Default Water In Tail Lights !!

I have looked up other posts about this same prob. but havn't heard anything besides replace the whole unit. I have water in my lense and the reverse light is fogged up. I have taken it out, let the water dry out, then siliconed the mating edges together, and the area where the blubs reside. I was thinking of taking the light apart and trying to polish the reflectors (the light is dim) and putting it back together again. Has anyone tryed this? also, has anyone found a crack somewhere else that I havn't thought to look at? Any help would be appraciated

FINDING the crack is the hard part, using some sealent isnt a bad idea but actually stopping the water is pretty hard to do once youve actually verified its leaking...

Has anyone tried to open up the light and try to fix it? I just don't want to buy another one to find out in a year or so that it's leaking again, and that they mostly crack in the same area. Drilling a hole sounds like a good idea, but don't want the bulbs to burn out like the DRL's. Thanks for the help so far.
