What is your insurance?
I can finally get a loan soon.. So i am beginning to look around for 95-97 TA or cheap LS1 if possible.. I dont want to spend any more than $6k, but around $5k would be best, but I am just curious how much everyones insurance is, whether liability or full coverage, which insurer, what kinda car, age, male or female. etc..

You guys suck. Mine's $310/month till June I'm 19 and have 2 wrecks and 3 tickets. My insurance wouldn't be that high but I bought my ls1 in the middle of my policy and it's $500 higher over 6 months, but it had to be broken into 4 months. In June, it'll drop a good bit because the extra $500 will be over 6 months not 4, I'll be 20 by then so maybe it'll help a little.

i live in NJ and NJ has the highest car insurance rates in the USA
i'm 20 and in college. when i first bought my formula, i researched how much it would be to insure it. i have NO accidents, NO tickets, have a perfect driving record (*knock on wood*) and insurance was $3,000/year for full coverage. under my parents' plan - $750/year for full coverage
needless to say, i'm under mommy's plan
if you're 30+ and have a good driving record, these cars aren't THAT expensive. if you're a young'n like me, regardless of your driving history, if you plan to insure the car under your own name WITH full coverage, you're gonna get reamed.
note that an LT1 car is going to be a bit cheaper than an LS1 car as you're looking at a car that's 5+ years older than mine (i have a 2001). it's also important to note that my previous car was a 1995 3.4L V6 firebird - JUST LIKE YOU! - also under my parents' plan, and my LS1 car is only $50/year more it seems like you pay for the name with these cars, not the engine. a V6 camaro/firebird is looked at similarly as a V8 camaro/firebird by insurance companies. if you plan to get an LT1 firebird, your insurance rates should go up marginally if at all.

23 year old male
1 wreck and DUI, but no points on my record
$374/6 months, full coverage
Like ChocoTaco369, also under Mommy's plan
If you want to save some money, get a higher deductible. I have a $1000 deductible and I was paying $530/6 months with a $500 deductible. That's about $150 saved every six months.

I'm 20 and with State Farm I pay $174 a month...before I toatled my Z28 it was $76 a month...I was ticketed for the accedent (driving too fast for conditions, even though I was going 60 in a 70 driving in a MONSOON of a rainstorm) and I have one speeding ticket 69 in a 60. I wish it would hurry up and go down.

state farm full coverage with $500 deductables
a whopping 182.50 a month
i'm on my own policy but have my dad as an extra person covered. Also good student and a driving course thing, 1 ticket and an accident. My insurance is cheaper now with a V8 than it was with the V6 by $30 a month.
