96-97 LT1 Question
Alright, just wondering if a ECM from an automatic car will work on a T-56 car? Because I am buying LT1 edit from a guy and then hes giving me the computer that its locked to but its auto and my car is standard + swapping ECM's. Just wondering if it will bolt right up no prob or not. Also planning on saving the data off my ECM because it is slightly tuned and then loading it onto the new ECM. Anyone know if these ECMs will just swap right over? Also when I went to a junk yard to get an extra ECM they said they needed the service number because not all 96-97 ECM's will just plug right in. But i think they will all just plug in and go.

What im going to do is, take my ECM to a tuner that has a license for unlimited VINs and have him save my file off my ECM, then when I get the other ECM I will load it onto there, which will change it to the same as my old one but it will be tunable by LT1 edit because of the VIN that is locked in. Wont that work? It should. But otherwise just wanted to know if itd bolt right up.
