Why do people stroke their engines?

if you can make the same horse power with just using the stock stroke and a better rotating assembly with the same bore. then why stroke it?

Stroking it gives a broader power curve with more torque. A 600 N/A horsepower 396 is a lot more streetable than a 600 N/A horsepower 355.

No replacement for displacement, more cubes meant more power, thats why, more cubes makes easier streetable power.

if you do the exact same stuff to a 355 and a 383, the 383 will make more power all around. plus its cooler to say youve got a 383 than a 350 lol

so where they might max out the same(HP) the "bigger bore shorter stroke" will maintain that power longer... thats cool thanks
