LQ9 Swap in a 99 Z
Any ideas on what parameters I should look at the most, when tuning? My car is running an HP tune for a Tsp 237/242 .603/.609 113 in a 5.7 litre ls1 99 based. Now I'm running a 2005 based stock displacement 6.0 LQ9 same cam (tsp ms3) with stock 317 Heads compression supposedly 10.0:1. I'm running SVO 30lb injectors dynatech stepped long tubes 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 with merge 3 1/2 "tuned" collectors and a tsp rumbler x true dual. I'm still running a stock ls1 intake, descreened stock maf and stock throttle body. Any ideas would be appreciated as I am a novice in the efi tuning arena, but I have plenty of time and am willing to jump in. Thanks in advance

I'm looking to do exactly what you did man. Can't wait to hear the replys. I'm looking to go LQ9 with L92 heads and a hot cam. Any info? Worth all the time? Or just stay with LS1? Thanks

What tuning software are you using? I would change out the Engine Size parameter from 5.7L to 6.0L. Then using you tuned 5.7L as a base, I would tune the VE in open loop, then the MAF, using a wideband. This will be your best bet. Actually, this is what I did when I swapped in my LQ4.

As for the swap try to find a pre 04 motor because 04 and up GM changed the head bolt design and they are considerably more expensive than the previous years. Other than that I love it and I would definitely suggest it especially with the l92 heads just be warned though you'll lose some low end due to the huge intake ports but definitely make it up at top end!!!! That's my next big project l92 heads and l76 intake. But as for now it's all tune.
