Default Code reader cannot see PCM?

I have gotten a two SES lights over the last several months so I have taken my car to AutoZone to get the codes read. However, both times they could get no response from the PCM, no acknowledgement or reading at all. This has happened at different times and different stores and even while trying multiple readers at the same store.

The SES lights went away after a few days so I was not real concerned but I have emissions testing coming up - I don't want the same thing to happen there during the PCM test and end up having to take a sniffer test.

Otherwise the car acts normally and runs great.

Anyone have any ideas why code readers might not see the PCM? What can I do about this?

Thanks,

Steve

check the cigarette lighter/accessory fuse in the car

if your cig lighter doesn't work then that's the issue (DLC plugin gets power off that circuit)

That fuse is blown so that is probably the problem - I will get another fuse at AutoZone tomorrow and try getting the codes read again.

I would NEVER have guessed that a fuse could be the problem - thanks alot!!

Replaced the lighter/acc fuse and the code reader worked just fine (got the old P0155 code).

Bank 2 is passenger side - right?
