Default Ls2 oil pressure question on my 403

I might just be paranoid but I want this thing to be perfect. There is 35-40 psi at idle hot and 50-55psi hot at 2000rpms with 5w-30 reg oil. I thought it would be higher than this. I am running .0015 bearing clearances on my mains and rods and a ported ls6 pump. I had a little bit more oil pressure with my old 40,000 mile ls1 with the same pump. I would of thought the fresh motor with tighter clearances would be better. Is there something I might have missed? I put the dumbell in the back and the freeze plug up front. I read in a thread somewhere that there should be 0-rings in the valley cover? I did not have those oil rings only the valley gasket. Anyone know a little more about this? Thanks in advance.
