Any head work? I think I would rec. a 118/222 550 lift 114. Should idle very good and make good power on stock heads, or some good ported stage 1 heads.

I forgot to add that I will be keeping the stock heads.

The TR220 shoud idle about as well as the 216/220 and the TR220 should make more power. As mentioned above the 02 LS6 cam would be very stock and make decent power. Don't waste your time with the 01 LS6 cam. The TR220 should make more power, all things being equal.

A ported TB will help get the most out of whatever cam you pick since your getting a LS6 intake. Ported TB are pretty cheap to as far as LS1 stuff goes and well worth it.

My car has a SRP224 a custom XE-R and has a nice idle with tuning, but it's harder on the valve springs.

Default Which cam for these mods?

I have a 2000 C5 M6, and plan on doing the Ls6 intake, Donaldson blackwing, and TPIS full length headers. With this combo of mods, would a TR 220/220 114 or a comp cams 216/220 114 be better? I want idle to be as close to stock as possible. The car will be dynoed and computer- tuned once the cam is installed. Should I consider a different cam? Thankx

Why not just get an LS6 cam and use that? noting extreme, may not yield a high gain, but it'd idle close to stock. Ive heard clips of 224 cams before, and they idle pretty good, nothing too insane, imo. The 114 is probably a better choice in this case. Try the LS6 cam, the LS1 hot cam or the TRs, all are good cams, to me anyway lol
