Default easiest way to remove oil pan??

Well everything was going smoothly and then... took out the stock cam and I hear a "tink" noise. Lifter into the oil pan due to my own carelessness. After alot of cursing I decided to remove the oil pan tomorrow. What is the easiest way to go about doing this wihtout a engine hoist? Thanks and merry christmas!

Pull the sender out of the pan and use a magnet to retreive it.

To pull the the pan you have to pull the motor or drop the subframe.

I would still have to drop the oil pan right? And can I reuse the oil pan gasket? I think the lifter was either # 7 or 8 cylinder. Can you explain the procedure a little more, I can't seem to find much information about the sender unit in my service manual. Thanks !!

Guys who used a magnet... Did you try to fish out the lifter from the front? Did you remove the oil pump?
