Default Car Wont Start!alarm Or Vats

I Turned My Car Off About 10 Min Later I Try To Start It To Go To School And It Doesnt Crank. All The Lights On The Dash Come On With The Key In The On Position But The Car Wont Even Attempt To Crank. I Tried Cleaning The Key And The Lock Cylinder. Also Cleaned The Batt Cables And Checked The Voltage. I Noticed Other People That Had This Problem Said Their Security Light Stayed On. Mine Comes On Wen U Turn On The Key But Then After Aprox 10 Sec It Goes Out With The Rest Of The Lights Except For The Normal Ones That Stay On. Any Ideas This Sux Not Being Able To Drive The Car Onthe First Nice Weekend On Long Island This Spring!!!

If the security light isn't on I'd look elsewhere - how much voltage did the battery have? You can have enough for the lights but not enough to turn the car over.

Is your car an auto or M6?

Ignition switch or if it is an M6, than could be the clutch switch on the pedal.
