Default Car runs hotter with tranny cooler

I had a huge tranny cooler on my LT1 and it never effected the engine coolant temps. Now on my 98 the car runs hotter for some reason. It's not even that big of a cooler. I have a Yank 4k stall BTW. Any ideas before I relocate it?

then your trans must be running hotter than your engine coolant. I havent heard of that happening to anyone. If it seems to be a problem take the trans cooler in the radiator out of the loop (bypass it to the return fluid line back to the trans) and just run whatever trans cooler you run.

Never heard of and engine running hotter due to a trans cooler unless the radiator is nearly inadequate and the cooler is in front restricting air flow. Also of note the fins on the cooler do need to be in the same direction as the ones on the radiator or it will block air flow
