Default quick ? on 2000 camaro (5.7) engine removal

hey everyone. i was reading on how easy it was to remove the engine out the bottom with a lift. i was always just planning on removing the heads and taking it out the top when the time comes. but how high does the car have to be off the ground to take the engine out the bottom (minimum clearance)? thanks, joe

hmm.. you basically need a cherry picker to lift the body.. but you need the same for pulling the motor out the top, but I would say you need the body a good 4 ft up. If you trying to figure out which way is easier.. trust me pulling the motor out the bottom is easier. Here is a website with some pictures to show you how high you need to get the body up.
