Just did my swap to Hawk pads and brembo plain rotors. I ran into a problem with the left front side dragging.. turned out to be a seized pin (which I had a hell of a time with) and when I tried to get the pads off, they were stuck GOOD.

Anyway, I couldn't get them on right with those metal pieces on the top and bottom that they slide into. Without, they went in without a hitch. I don't see what they really do but keep them seated while installing.. do I really need them? Will my car blow up without them on the passenger side?
