Odd RPM behavior in neutral
So I'm having this weird problem with my car...
When coming to a stop (usually from speeds higher than 40) if I pop the car in neutral the RPMs gradualy climb higher. It's not a big thing it usually goes from about 1800 when it's in gear and than goes to around 2500 (sometimes higher sometimes not as high) when in neutral and then slowly falls and then when I put it back into gear it goes back to the normal operating RPMs.
I'm stumped on this one fellas! I don't even know if this was the correct place to post this thread!
It's not a big deal and it doesn't happen all the time (only when coasting to a stop, NEVER at a stop and NEVER when the car is just idling) but I still would like to figure out what is up and if I need to fix something.
Thanks for ANY input guys!
