Default My 1970 Nova 406 at Bristol

This was about 6 months ago but just got around to putting it on here. I got to run my car with the nitrous for the first time when I got home on leave from Afghanistan. First video is pulling into waterbox, second is burnout, third is 1/4 mile run. My nephew was videoing but didn't get the launch. Had to spot the other car about 4.XX seconds. In the third video you can see when it starts how far I had to spot the other car. I chased him down and passed at the end with a 10.84@121. Sorry for the vid quality, nephews first time filming.

That was the only thing I wanted was the launch but he got everything but.

Detail on car
406c.i. #509 block Forged bottom end with 5.7 rods
Brodix T1 heads(1997 model)
11.1 comp
252/264 .566 .566 112 Solid Roller
Team G intake w/ 800dp
MSD 6AL and 3 step
NOS cheater kit

TH350 out of junkyard with shift kit and 3500 converter

Ladder bar with junk coil overs
8.2 10 BOLT with 4.11 gears and mini spool and stock axles
Mini tubbed with 28X12.5X15 E.T. streets
12 point cage

It ran a 11.7 at 114 letting off at 1000' when I first got it running with 4.56 gear(ran out of gear) and since ripped every tooth off of 4.56 and put in 4.11. This car is still in it's infancy stages. I ran it once and went to boot camp, came back home year later, completely rewired it and ran it once, came back year later and ran it once, this past year came back and ran it once. Hard to thrash and get a lot done with 20 days out of the year to work on it Got a lot to do to it when I get home for good this year(around the time the tracks all close ). Got a 9 inch being put in it, REAL coil over shocks for front and back, progressive nitrous controller, changing cam, intake and carburator. Hopefully when I have a chance to work on it, I can get it in the 10's on motor.

WannaLS1-Your dad's car sounds strong to be running 11.7's on a 3.31. I shift at 6800 and cross the traps at 7000 with the 4.11. I would get to the 1000' at 7000 in drive with the 4.56. I have a 5" fiberglass cowl and a fiberglass trunk lid and interior has been taken out. That is what I have for weight reduction if you want to know.
