Carrier questions? Trans guys help me out.
I am rebuilding my 4L60e. One of the carriers is 4 pinion and the other is five. The 5 pinion is out of spec so it will be replaced. What would I have to do to replace the 4 pinion one? Just buy a 5 pinion. I found a supplier to order from but I need to know the part number for the 5 pinion. Can someone tell me the part number or what I need to order? The car will be around 600rwhp would the 4 pinion hold up to that?

all you need to do is go to gm and order the 5 pinion front and rear planetary's, they are a direct swap
the factory 4 pinion do hold up fine but if you want the 5 pinion make sure you get them from gm and not the aftermarket 5 pinion ones

Agreed the 4 pinion should hold up fine but as he said be very carefull on where you get a five pinion ,We will only by ours directly from a GM dealer there are many aftermarket ones out there that are way weaker than the oem 4 pinion, 5 PINION PLANET=GM ONLY
