5500 isnt tooooo far off the price of a procharger kit from bob at EPP, youd need a bigger fuel pump and injectors too though , and you should pin the crank too in my opinion. Your looking at around 7-7500 bare minimum with misc stuff you will end up needing that you wont expect.

If thats all you have to spend on forced induction then turn around and run and TRY not to EVER look back in this section again for your own good

From what I've seen here 500 can last, 600 doesn't last long, 550 is walking the edge.

You could get forged rods and pistons for your stock motor and install ARP hardware and some stock 317 heads for ~2K or less then the motor would be good for 850+hp.

Stock 6.0L 72cc Heads $350
Valvetrain $350
Procharger kit $6000

I got a D1SC tuner kit with everthing I need for around 6300 from bob. He has a packaged deal on his website for DIY Procharger kits that I took advantage of.

unless your looking for over 600- 700 rwhp full time
i wouldnt bother with a FI motor
for 7k$ u can build a mean N/A motor that will put u over 500rwhp
if properly built.
can always throw on some spray if need be.

When you all say 500hp you mean flywheel horses, right?

no, we tend to only use rwhp numbers here. its a much more common measurement as you dont need to take the motor out.

I'd say 500-600rwhp with a stock engine down to the head bolts. But at the higher levels all bets are off. I'd at least do head studs if I really pushed one.
