Whats a streetable th400?
I have questions regarding streetability of a good racing th400. For those who drive theres on highway trips and daily driver in the summer what kinda stall are you running? I heard if u have a transbrake your need a higher stall and they dont have a lockup provision therefore bad for daily driving?
TH400 guys let me know what you think, i am considering going from m6 to th400.

It is possible to have a lockup 400 however it is big bucks. As far as needing a higher stall because of the break that is not exactly true. The combo of having the brake with the stall will allow you to launch at a higher engine rpm. I guess depending on your cam spec's is where the tc stall selection should be. Good luck if you choose to do the TH400 swap. FLT does offer the transmission with any upgrades in which you choose if you are interested. Give Chuck a call for pricing and product info. Vince

I'd like to know the same question? I'd hate to pay $900 for a PT yank stall and watch the tranny let go after a little abuse especially from nitrous? if I can get the Turbo400 with stall for a little more then I might as well do that! but streetability is a main concern!

Be honest with yourself on how you are going to use the car. Mine is not a daily driver and will see maybe 2500 miles a year on the street. I can live with 4.10s and a spool with that little of miles.
If its a daily driver you better be hardcore and have some deep pockets for gas money to have a TH400 and steep gears.

I drive mine around on the street all the time (on the weekends ) and it's fine, though "streetable" to me isn't the same as it is for a lot of other people. On the highway/interstate, I still get better gas mileage in my th350 LS1 than my 3.8 Grand Prix does
Mine has a 4k stall and it can pull away from a stop just fine. It's not near as bad as some people make it out to be
