Default Some Questions about the 5.3

Hey Everyone.

Ive got a few questions regarding the 5.3L LM4 Truck engine.

Soo, here goes:
1. Can you use an LS6 intake on it?
2. What is the largest valve diameter you can use?
3. Will an LS1 Harness plug right into everything if there is an F-body oil pan and accessories?
4. Does the 5.3L use an LS1 Style oil pump?

Thanks for the help.

1.) Yes, but you'll need to change the front steam crossover tube to the LS1 / 6 style because the truck one puts the steam line output into the throttlebody. Rear steam venst should be capped and are unchanged. Truck fuel rails (and fuel crossover) & injectors won't work (without significant modifications). So you need a complete intake.
2.) Will depend upon bore size. Stock bore size is 96mm (3.779"). But the 5.3 can be overbored, so if you overbore then max valve size will go up. But in any case you won't be able to run L92's (which need a minimum 4.000 bore) or the other big valve heads.
3.) I believe the injectors on the cars and trucks use different plugs. So as long as you've swapped the complete manifole (including injectors) you should be ok. May also have issues (depending upon the year of the 5.3) with the MAF sensor, cam sensor, and crank sensor. Newer engines are really more like LS2's than LS1's.
