I have a T 56 out of a lt1, is it possible to put it in a ls1 car. if so what would have have to do? is it pretty much the same tranny has the ls1 but just a different bell housing. Thanks

I am not too familiar with the T-56's, do the 2 Bell Housings bolt to the Tranny the same way, just to the Block different?

You will also need the frond adapter casting as the real reason the two are different is the clutch release system. Concentric slave on the LS1 mounts to the front adapter. LT1s had an external slave and a "pull" fork system. That front adapter had provistion for the T stud mount for the fork.
The LS1 trans grew in length( about an inch I think) to accomodate the release system stack up requirements.
