what cam for stock engine?

Default what cam for stock engine?

hey guys first i want to note that i tried to search but the search isnt working lol. so my question is what cam can i get for my car that i can pass the lovely CA smog and keep my engine with stock manifolds i had LT's but got pulled over so im staying stock becuase i heasrd shorties arent worth the money and stock heads at least for a good while.i only have a cutout and thats it, so am i going to have to get a hotcam or can i use the cheaTR cam? thanks guys and sorry for the question if it seems stupid to youll.

Well you have an '02, and i believe the stock manifolds flow a little bit better then the previous model years, but they are still going to leave a lot of power on the table. Look into something small like the "Old man" cam from thunder racing. Your going to need something with a high lsa to pass emissions, and i believe that cam is on a 115.

Ive heard of people being able to get the Tr224/224 on a 114 to pass cali emissions, but those stock manifolds are going to choke that cam.

I suggest either a 224 or 228 cam.

May want to consider a cam like mine. Someone else on here had this cam and picked up 40 rwhp with stock manifolds on a Z06. Only other mods were a pulley and 1.8 rockers.

Another one that you might want to consider would be the 056 cam. Vettenuts has this cam and really likes it. The crane cams may look small but they are capable of putting up good numbers. My tuner was impressed with how the XXX pulled, especially up top.
