Question 1968 roof rail drip edge

hello,
i have a puzzling question about my A-pillar and the roof rail drip edge. MY A-pilar has NO drip edge to snap the roof rail onto. The car is going in for painting this week. The car was originally a Vinyl top car. I also own a 67 GTO, and on the GTO's, there is a trim piece that is added on, before the wetherstrip channel is installed. Does the Firebird have the same thing ? The firebird had a NEW OER roof panel installed, and i'm starting to wonder if something was cut off that shouldn't have been. The guy who disassembled th car and took the old roof off, left, and another guy is finishing it up. I am at a loss on what i am missing. Any and all help, as well as digital photos would br greatly appreciated. This will help solve the mystery.

Rob

Is this what what you're looking for? Both my Camaro and Firebird have it and the bird came with a vinyl top.
