Stock heads on my 408 I am running on a tight budget here on my 408, has anyone ever used stock heads on their 408? Can i get away with the stock steel 6L head gasket? I know it is a 4" bore and my block is a 4.030.
The only reason that I'm asking this is because I need to get this engine running soon. Then in 3 months from now, I'm going with ported heads; but in the meantime I'm going to have to use the stock 98 heads. I figure that the stock combustin chamber is smaller for the stock 3.9" bore, so the 4" gasket won't matter?
