I know you said you checked it, but make sure the pcv line is connected at the valve cover and the intake manifold still. Also make sure all your spark plug wires are double clicked into the coil packs. I don't know what the coil wiring harness looks like on the 98s, but it shouldn't matter where the coils themselves are as long as the wires match the cylinders. Double check that your MAF, TPS, IAC and IAT sensors are still plugged in.

Also check the little earth wires around the place to make sure you didnt leave one off or busted
