slave/throw out to clutch measurement?
I have an extremely high pedal with my Spec Twin, to the point where it sucks to drive around town. Now, I took it all apart and measured from the trans to the face of the TOB (compressed, of course) and from the bell housing to the pressure plate fingers and it is just about 1/16" gap (just a touch under if anything). This seems too tight to me and I thought I read it is supposed to be .125-.150 somewhere. Spec said 1/16" is right, but that just seems too tight and leaves no room for wear.
What is the right measurement for proper clutch operation? I was thinking of having my machinist take some off the back of the throw out bearing to get more room, what have you guys done to open the gap up if needed?
