Default What causes a car to backfire?

I have a ls1 that i removed the procharger from and now it backfires. Will wiring the o2 sensors cause this because i changed them with bosh 02s and then the backfiring started.I was thinking it was the maf sensor but is it any way to check the maf without replacing it?When tuning the car will the computer let me know what the problem is?

Default Dude

I just went through a backfiring ordeal. Turns out it was my plugs one of them was not supplying enough spark. And it was backfiring like a damn popcorn machine. If I were you I would check them along w/ wires!

A good scan tool will show misfires which do not throw a code unless its really really bad.
