Change oil light on AFTER I changed the oil?

Change oil light [i]after[/i] I changed the oil? for the first time that ive had this car (30k miles?) the change oil light popped up, so i changed the oil... checked the level which was at recommended amount... turned on the car... change oil light is still on, but goes away if i drive the car for more than 30 seconds. it doesnt sound like a huge deal, i just dont want to see that light every time i turn on my car... anyone know whats up?

That's the GM oil life system, since you just changed the oil reset it. Don't pay any attention to it myself. Reset it by turning key key on and depressing the gas pedal three times, or with key on press and hold the trip/oil reset button on the dash until it flashes and goes off.
