Default weird noise

everytime i let out on the clutch it makes a tapping noise. but after its all the way out it stops. what does that mean!?

2000 trans am btw

it returned tonight and it didnt want to get out of gear. makes horrible noise now much worse going to shop monday

Throwout bearing. If you can swing it, look into replacing the clutch while you are in there.

i might do that how much do throwout bearing jobs usually cost? i dont have the time to do it on my own

Well, I'm not sure. I know that the transmission has to come out, or at least back enough under the car to replace it. Figure four hours of labor, not sure what it would cost though. Different shops might be faster or slower.

alright its going to the shop when i get off work today. thanks for the help

i just want to fix it so i can sell it. i need something that can tow a jet ski

Technically, you could tow with an F-body. It is rear wheel drive. You can tow up to 1500 lbs I believe, and it's been done before. I just hate to see someone leave the community...

i dunno i was thinking about a jeep. i no longer race so the ta is just a daily right now and its not the best for that
