noise when i hit bump in road

Default noise when i hit bump in road

i bought the car new and it has always made a loud bang when i hit a bump man-hole or any other hole in the road it has also done on the 1-2 shift dealer couln't find so they wound't fix it under warranty it is getting worse anyone know what it might be it sounds like the springs aren't mounted and then they bang on the mounts when i hit a bump everything looks good any help would be appriciated thank you

it sounds like it is coming from the rear of the car some times on the right other times the left depending on where the bump is but it could be the sound waves just bouncing off the curb i will check the trans mount thanx for the info GREG

I had a issue with lower contol arm weld broke loose and made a terrible clunk, sounded like someone was beating on the passenger floorboard(but was a aftermarket LCA). I also had a loose panhard bar on one side and made a light clunk... Took a long time to figure out both of those issues, I had a shop check every bolt under the car to get to the problem(stock bar), rear of car felt a little loose also when this happened. It wasn't even very loose...other one to check as said above trans mount. Another one to check is your back shocks...they mount and the bolt to tighten them is in the back seat area under the carpet.

well, things to check would also be LCA as said above. make sure your exhaust isnt hitting the undercarriage. other than trans mount it could also be a torque arm bushing.
