ls1 compressor same as v6 compressor?

ls1 compressor same as v6 compressor? Is an LS1 ac compressor the same compressor used in v6 applications?
Edit, the v6 compressors are not the same, the 6 bolts up from the front, while the ls1 bolts up from the side, totally different compressors.
