Default T66 big enough for 370ci?

I have a buddy with a Garrett T66, says he will trade it and a 50mm tial bov for my nitrous kit. My goal is ~650-700rwhp and not having to run a ton of boost. Is this turbo going to be able to get the job done?

No. Far too small.

Just to give ya an idea I have a 408 and have to upgrade the T80gts that I have cause its too small and you have only 38 less cubes Id be thin king of either one of the new ST series turbos or a T88

i had thought about an S88 like NastyTA, was hoping against hope I could get out of it cheaper. For twins would twin 60s be sufficient?

bandit, you're upgrading right? do they just upgrade the one you have, or are you going to have to buy a new turbo all together?

Guys I run a TC76MPS on my 370ci in my shop car. It made 561/564 on pump gas at 6400rpm. That was running 10.5-11:1 A/F and 15* degrees of timming. The tune was pig rich and dead safe. It cost me some HP. The car ran 10.91 @ 131mph in the 1/4 on 315 BFG DR's.

The T66 would work on your 370 at 8lbs or so. It is gonna run out of steam fairly quick. It would spool super fast on the street, but you would benifit form a bigger turbo. Its all in what you want to do.

right now I'm either going to go with a Turbonetics 76mm or an additional T66. So far all I have is two 38mm TiAL gates and a 50mm TiAL BOV right now. I'm going to use 6.0L manifolds.

2 Posts up.

I made 561/564 on 10lbs with too much fuel and not enough timming. Before it is all said and done the turbo is gonna see 17+lbs and I am gonna see what the 370 I have in the car will hold. I am not above greading the engine to prove a point. I have a 408 and 91.5mm turbo waiting... The car is not ready for that yet.

A T88 (or S88) would get you where you want to go without cranking the boost to high. If you got the room for twins, just add a second T66 like mentioned above. Either would work out well.

It is cheap... but there is no room for it unless your ready to do some cutting. Depending on the level of mechanical ability, he needs to decide if he wants to cut up anything. If not, stick to a T4 T76 like turbonetics, innovative and Precision.

I made 600 @ only 6000k rpms on 9 lbs of boost on a 348. The turbo has a lot left in her.

A TC76 will get you there. We have had great sucess with them. Our customers love them so far. Also if you want something a little more serious and want to stay T4, then the ST-series is awesome. If you can squeeze a T6 then go S-series
