which is the send/return port on water pump?

Default which is the send/return port on water pump?
can anyone tell me which port is the send and which is the return on an LS1 water pump?

The bottom port on the pump with the thermostat is the water outlet, water flows from the engine to the radiator. The top port is the water inlet, water flows from the radiator to the engine.
