Default Camaro Camaro Camaro Time Whats the Problem???

About 5000 miles ago I had my plugs and wires replaced on a 98 V6. About a month or two ago it rained heavily and my engine started to have a rough idle and a very rough and power restricted ride. After a simple diagnostic I found that there was a cylinder 3 misfire. Upon looking at the ignition coil I found that there is no electrical impulse for cylinder 3. I'm planning on replacing the coil but my question is more to the root of the problem. I'm wondering what would cause this in the first place which would make replacing the coil obsolete if it will just lose its charge again. Should I just trust replacing the coil and see what the outcome is?
