Longtube headers and y pipe. You can get the Pacesetter headers and a Y with or without cats. That should leave you enough money for a lid. Or if you are an auto car, you can get yourself a Stall converter, which will help a ton too.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I appreciate it. I think Im going to do headers, y-pipe and the lid.
One more question:
I believe Ive heard some people say that headers with the slp exhaust sounds like ****? Is this true? Note: I understand it will be loud Im okay with that part the SS is not a daily driver. Thanks again.
btw: my ss is 6 spd

It will be very loud. Mine with the Pacesetters and ORY and an unknown stainless muffler is pretty loud. Not intollerable, nice throaty sound, but loud. A litty droney on highway.

$1k dollars huh?, you could do alot, you could buy a ported and polished t/b for around $80, a k&n and a lid about $150, MSD wires and NGK plugs for about $80, ported MAF ends for about $80 ( curent total $390 ), now LT's are good but if you have a loudmouth you might wanna save up a little more so you can replace your catback otherwise it is gonna be loud but LT's & ORY for about $520, so there ya go, doing the labor yourself you got $910 in parts and some go power

Okay guys sorry for all the questions but heres what I was thinking about doing for my set up:
Lid, Hooker Headers, y-pipe and keeping my slp loudmouth exhaust.
What do you guys think?
