Default ac compressor dying!?

when i first start the car until it warms up a bit it makes a tick noise coming from the ac i beleive. It's not an engine noise i am sure. the noise has no pattern to it at all, and varies in how loud it is and how often it hits. also when i turn the ac on it makes a different noise sounds like the compressor wants to die lol

am i safe to just remove the little belt that goes to the pump?
and it is the compressor right?

i didnt find anything in a search that sounded like my issue

thanks in advance

Mine does the same thing. Metallic ticking noise when the AC is off (sometimes, or if AC just ran) and the AC itself sounds whiny like it's gonna drop out the bottom of the car or something! A friend of mine says its the "ac compressor bearing" but I haven't really messed with it yet so I have nothing further to offer...let me know what you end up doing, cuz I want to fix mine too...it's annoying as hell!

hmmm well my plan is to cut the little belt that goes to said compressor off

this may be a dumb idea since im going to the beach soon. but i hate ac and will never use it.

so someone stop me if this is a bad idea or will cause other problems
