Default 1969 Triple white RS-SS Question

My aunt owns a one owner 1969 triple white convertible 350SS. This car is all original with only 70k on the clock. Its been kept out of the sun in a heated/cooled garage for the last 20+ years. The interior and top is in great shape no fading, cracks, tears. The exterior could use some TLC but it doesn't need repaintedThe car has hideaway headlights and factory AC. The only rust on the entire car is around the rear wheel wells, its very light surface rust. The question is how much is this car really worth? She would like to keep it in the family and has offered the car to me for almost nothing compared to what I've heard this car might be worth.

without photos, or cowl tag ID info to verify what it is, pricing it would be like throwing darts in the dark.

If it is a true SS-350 convertible, original engine, good running condition, easily $23-25K to start. Completely restored with zero rust, it would be worth about $45K

It is a true SS 350. Her and her husband ordered it new from the local dealership. She has all the original paperwork on the car. Its all original other than the tires with numbers matching.

If they bought it new then maybe they still have the Protecto Plate for the car, maybe still in the glove box with the warranty card. The POP(protecto plate) has more info on it you will want to have. Without pictures it's really hard to say, sounds like you are talking about what they call a "survivor" car, a car that hasn't been restored. If that's what it is and it's in great shape it's probably worth somewhere between 30 & 40K. If it's been completely rotiserie(sp?) restored 40K to 50K. I wouldn't think triple white would be very popular but who knows production numbers of those maybe of been low so it could be fairly "rare". True numbers matching SS's are hard to find.

#s matching is what gives this baby its value, compare your car next to a few on autabuy.com would be my suggestion

The matching #s, the protecto-plate and any addtional documents is what will give the car value. Anywhere from $25-$50K could be had from as-is to a fully-restored car. The small block won't pull the higher $$ that big blocks always do, but I'd say a triple white 69 Camaro convertible with the Rally Sport & Super Sport options should move it on up the list. Almost everything is available to restore it as well.

Good luck!

The chrome trim needs rechromed, new paint, and the car would be in perfect condition. The interior looks like what it did when it was new.

The car has never been restored. My uncle died in the mid 70's and she put the car in a heated/cooled garage and thats where its been since then. She's taken it out every now and then in the summer for a grocery getter and thats it. Her healths been declining the last decade so I think shes maybe put about 100 miles on it in the last 15 years.

This is not an easy price to set with the info given, but private sale, assuming it is easily restorable should fall between $28 and $56. Just depends on condition, options, documentation (which you have in spades!) and the overall appeal of the combo. The triple white may actually hurt your sale, not a high demand color scheme. If she isn't asking too much, and you actually intend to restore and use/display it, but it. If not, have her get an appraiser over.

Damn, I'd jump on that if ya got the cash. Gutted rust buckets can go for $5-10K now-a-days.
